Several staff members were recognized at the President's Staff Sack Lunch Feb. 26. Outstanding staff awards were presented to Jan Hillman, Student Development; Nancy Kent, University Communications and Marketing; Debra Kutsky, College of Education; and Donna Mohon, Academic Affairs. Outstanding department awards went to Academic Computing Services web support, the School of Library and Information Sciences dean's office staff and the Athletics Department. Two staff members received Top Ideas for Productivity and Savings (TIP$) awards. Mary Roby, Student Accounting, made the suggestion to install ceiling fans in the Eagle Student Services Center, and Ruth Evans, University Communications and Marketing, suggested reorganizing the Centranet Directory so all offices and departments are listed alphabetically. Soaring Eagles, nominated by their peers for outstanding customer service, were also recognized. President Norval Pohl and other administrators addressed questions submitted by staff members on various topics, including gender equity issues regarding athletics, custodial service needs, Friday Pride Day and the possibility of observing more Friday or Monday holidays vs. the full week off for spring break.
