Staff awards presented at sack lunch

Several staff members were honored at the President's Staff Sack Lunch May 6.

Outstanding staff awards were presented to Mary Braden, School of Visual Arts; Deena Nichols, Purchasing and Payment Services; and Rebecca Wright, Department of Engineering Technology.

Outstanding department awards went to the Clark Residence Hall team, the Center for Public Service, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, the Division of Student Development Computer Support group, and the Office of Equity and Diversity.

Soaring Eagles, nominated by their peers for outstanding customer service, and Star Performers, nominated for outstanding performance in their departments, were also recognized.

UNT President Norval Pohl addressed questions submitted by the audience concerning raises for the 2004-05 fiscal year; the cost to purchase A parking permits and D parking permits; the Enterprise Information System; incorrect leave time indicated on check stubs; athletic conference negotiations; UNT athletes' troubles in a local bar; higher temperatures in UNT buildings this summer and a more relaxed summer dress code; the decision not to use administrative leave for employees who must vacate a building while repair work is conducted; and lost key fees.

In addition, drawings were held for door prizes provided by various local businesses.
