Grand gold awards were presented for: Resource 2002-03, in the category of magazine design. North Texas Insider, the Office of the President's e-mail newsletter produced with assistance from UCM, in the category of alumni programs, projects or special events. The first poster in a series of high school recruitment posters, in the category of visual design posters. Award of Excellence silver awards were presented for: "Seeing the Invisible," written by Cathy Cashio, public information officer, in the category of medical/scientific feature writing. The article appeared in Resource 2002-03. The UNT undergraduate viewbook, in the category of visual design viewbooks. Achievement bronze awards were presented for: The UNT undergraduate viewbook, in the category of admissions, recruitment and promotional literature. "Smart Gels," written by Rufus Coleman, public information officer, in the category of medical/scientific feature writing. The article appeared in Resource 2002-03. "Texas Accent May Be an Asset in Job Searches," written by Nancy Kolsti, public information officer, in the category of general news writing. The article was originally a press release distributed in October 2002. A group of articles containing work written by Cashio, Coleman and Kelley Reese, assistant news director, in the category of medical/scientific writing collections. Cashio's article was "Seeing the Invisible"; Coleman's article was "Smart Gels"; and Reese's article was "Recycling Cyanide," which appeared in Resource 2002-03. A special pewter award was presented for: "Connecting People and Pets," written by Cashio, in the category of general feature writing. The article appeared in the summer 2002 issue of The North Texan.
