Maturational Assessment Clinic

The Maturational Assessment Clinic is a nonprofit diagnostic center dedicated to the study and research of child development, proper school placement and school readiness.

Most research of child development during the past 20 years has been dedicated to the development of children from the ages of 2-and-a-half through 9. MAC focuses primarily on these early childhood years because of their importance in planning an educational future.

Through testing, evaluation and assessment, MAC can determine the maturity level of a child. This will help to place the child in a proper school environment. MAC offers routine behavioral evaluation of children ages 2-and-a-half through 9 and evaluation of school readiness for children ages 4 through 7. Proper school placement for children ages 3-and-a-half through 9 can also be evaluated. All evaluation findings are shared with parents, allowing them to better understand their child's development and make educated decisions about their child's educational future.

MAC predominantly serves Metroplex families, though its services are available throughout the state. The clinic is located in the Matthews Annex and administered through the College of Education. Children can be referred to the clinic by schools, physicians, psychologists, counselors, parents or any agency that works with young children.
