Spring graduation is May 12Graduate on top of the world

About 1,800 UNT students are expected to receive degrees during commencement ceremonies May 12.Bobby Ray

Bobby Ray, chair of the Board of Regents of the UNT System, will deliver an address to degree candidates and guests during the general convocation, scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. in the UNT Coliseum. Ray, a 1969 UNT graduate, is president of Goodman Family of Builders, one of the largest home-building companies in the Metroplex.

The general convocation will also include a welcome from newly inaugurated UNT President Norval Pohl and the hooding of doctoral degree candidates.

Following the general convocation, ceremonies will be held in the Coliseum for UNT's individual colleges and schools. Ceremonies for the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education, and School of Merchandising and Hospitality Management begin at 2:30 p.m. Commencement for the College of Business Administration, School of Community Service, School of Library and Information Sciences, College of Music and School of Visual Arts begins at 4:30 p.m.

Pohl and his wife, Barbikay, will be hosts of a reception for graduates, their families and guests from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. in tents on the practice field across Avenue E from the Coliseum.
