Today we unveil the redesigned faculty and staff publication, InHouse@UNT. Undoubtedly you've noticed the new design, which is more colorful and easier to read than the previous design of InHouse. But changes aren't simply cosmetic. In redesigning the publication, the public affairs office relied on the suggestions you made in surveys and focus groups. We've used your ideas to focus on the people at UNT, to provide more current news and a quick read, and to create a web site so that you can access news online. You'll notice some new features in addition to your old favorites. A new series introduces you to official centers and institutes on campus, and an informational graphic called "@UNT" gives you facts about the university. In addition to briefs about professional accomplishments such as grants, presentations and awards, the Bulletin Board section on the back page is a place where you can share noteworthy personal news, from announcements of a new child or grandchild to achievements outside of your professional field. The popular personality profiles and guest columns continue. Through these features, readers learn more about other staff and faculty members - an excellent way to build community at UNT. "Building community" is our motto and our mission. The new web site offers expanded coverage of some InHouse topics. Certain print articles have color bars that direct you to the web for more information. We'll use our limited space on paper to highlight the variety of news available; complete coverage is online. You'll find additional professional accomplishments in the online Bulletin Board, and many of the articles are expanded on the web. We're asking for your help to make this publication the best that it can possibly be. Because you've asked for up-to-date information, we'd like you to submit your accomplishments within two weeks after the event. And we encourage you to send us ideas for our regular features as well as suggestions for news articles. (Contact information can be found on page 2 or online.) Together, we can truly build community here at UNT.
