UNT teacher education program receives
national recognition The UNT Department of University Relations, Communications and Marketing received 11 awards during the Council for Advancement and Support of Education District IV conference awards ceremony April 5 in Houston. CASE is a professional organization for individuals who work in alumni relations, communications and development at universities and independent elementary and secondary schools. CASE District IV includes institutions in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Louisiana, Arkansas and Mexico. The URCM projects that received gold awards were the UNT Engineering Brochure, in the category of brochures/flyers/booklets four or more colors; "Rhythm and Rhinestones" (winter 2003 North Texan), in the category of feature writing 1,000 words or less; and "Songs of the Shaman Hill Country Artist Bill Worrell" (winter 2002 North Texan), which won in both the candid and color series photography categories. Receiving silver awards were A Parents Guide to UNT, in the publications writing category; and "Valerio De-Angelis and the Mystery of Math" (spring 2003 North Texan), in the black-and-white series photography category. Receiving bronze awards were The Transfer Advantage, in the publications writing category; UNT Undergraduate Viewbook, in the category of viewbooks; and "Recycling Cyanide Microbiologist Dan Kunz" (2002-03 Resource) and "Natural Killers Examining Cancer and Immune System Cells" (2002-03 Resource), both in the structured color photography category. Receiving a pewter award was the UNT Student Recreation Center Brochure, in the category of brochures/flyers/booklets four or more colors.
