REGENTS' FACULTY LECTURE SERIES
PERTINENT FACTS
The Regents' Faculty Lecture Series was established by the Board of Regents on April 30, 1982. The guidelines provide that one lecturer will be selected yearly before the end of the fall semester and that his/her lecture will be delivered on or about November 1 of the following year to a special convocation of faculty, staff, students, community leaders, and the public.
The Faculty Research Committee, in accordance with the guidelines, has recommended in preferred order:
1. Professor Miguel F. Acevedo, Department of Geography
Title: "Can We Learn To See The Forest For The Trees?"
2. Professor Robert W. Taylor, Criminal Justice
Title: "Youth Violence and Hate: Understanding and Searching For Meaningful Answers"
RECOMMENDATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS
The President recommends, with the concurrence of the Chancellor, that the Board of Regents select the first ranked nominee, Professor Miguel F. Acevedo, to be the Regents’ Faculty Lecturer for 2001.
