DORIS COY, associate professor of counseling, development and higher education, was named Writer of the Year by the Texas Counseling Association for her work in writing and editing articles, book chapters and books on counseling and guidance. She was awarded a plaque at the TCA conference, Nov. 5 in Fort Worth.

ROBERT FRODEMAN, associate professor and chair of the Department of Philosophy and Religion Studies, co-edited Rethinking Nature: Essays in Environmental Philosophy, published in October by Indiana University Press.

NANCY BOYD LILLIE, associate professor of management, and WILLIAM MATTHEW BOWLER, assistant professor of management, co-wrote with doctoral student WILLIAM McDOWELL "Over Reward and the Imposter Phenomenon," which McDowell presented at the Southern Management Association Conference, Nov. 5 in San Antonio.

LOU PELTON, associate professor of marketing and logistics, edited Business Ethics: Perspectives on Corporate Responsibility, published in August by Houghton Mifflin Co. and distributed to college and university faculty in business disciplines.

TERRANCE "TERRY" POHLEN, assistant professor of marketing and logistics, presented "Applying Activity-Based Costing to Logistics" at the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the National Defense Transportation Association meeting, Oct. 28 in Dallas.

He directs the early-childhood music program, in which UNT music students teach music to children.

BONITA JACOBS, vice president for student development, credits fund-raising efforts for keeping fee increases lower for the new health and wellness center in the Oct. 11 Dallas Business Journal.

LEON KAPPELMAN, professor of information technology and decision sciences, comments on the effectiveness of universities in an Oct. 31 Dallas Morning News story about changes facing technology workers. He emphasizes the importance of companies working together in research and development in that same edition of the newspaper.

associate professor of political science, explains the importance of name recognition for voters in a Nov. 2 Fort Worth Star-Telegram article about the level of success former athletes find in politics.

PATSY ROBLES-GOODWIN, assistant professor of counseling, development and higher education, compares the abilities of children and adults to learn foreign languages in the Oct. 27 Dallas Morning News.

BRENDA P. WELLS, associate professor of finance, insurance, real estate and law, comments on possible changes in the insurance industry in the Oct. 27 Dallas Morning News.

ROB ERDLE, Regents Professor of visual arts, AMIE ADELMAN, assistant professor of visual arts, and MILLIE GILES, lecturer in visual arts, are among the artists featured in Oct. 31 and Nov. 4 Denton Record-Chronicle articles spotlighting the studios of members of the Visual Arts Society of Texas and the first Art Adventure Tour of Studios.

GRAHAM PHIPPS, professor of music, discusses some works of 16th-century Venetian composer Andrea Gabrieli in the Oct. 28 Denton Record-Chronicle.

DALLAS DENVER RILEY, 75, groundskeeper and painter at UNT from 1970 to 1990, died Oct. 29. He worked as a groundskeeper from 1970 to 1977 and returned to North Texas in 1978 to work as a painter.

He is survived by his wife, LaVerine Prestridge Riley of Sanger; one daughter, Juanita Stults of Sanger; two sons, Michael Riley of Sanger and Donald Riley of Krum; three sisters, Echo Carty of Whitewright, Louise Wheeler of Lindale and Dorothy Lovin of Amarillo; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Nov. 2 in the chapel at Coker Funeral Home in Sanger. Burial was at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton.
