UNT to train Air Force logistics faculty

In partnership with the U.S. Air Force, the UNT Department of Marketing and Logistics is educating future faculty for the Air Force Institute of Technology.

AFIT — located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio — is the Air Force's graduate school. It trains officers to become logisticians in all branches of the military, supplying U.S. troops around the world with food, ammunition and equipment.

Each year the Air Force selects a handful of officers to earn doctoral degrees in marketing and logistics so that they may return to teach at AFIT.

UNT was chosen for participation in the partnership due to the quality of its logistics program, its professors — some of whom are former AFIT faculty — and the ability to provide a doctoral degree on a three-year timeframe.
