Suggested healthy habits for the fight against the flu
With a nationwide shortage of flu vaccine, taking steps to prevent the spread of the flu is a good idea.
Here's a list of good health habits from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to stop the spread of germs at home and at work:
- Avoid close contact with people who appear to be sick when you are out in public.
- When you are sick, keep your distance from others to protect them from illness. Stay home from work when you are sick. This prevents others from catching your illness.
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. Also, remember to clean your hands often to protect against germs.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs are often spread through touching something contaminated and then touching these parts of your face.
