Students approve fee to fund new Student Health and Wellness Center

| Racing for a cure and setting an example — UNT presented Nancy G. Brinker with the 2004 UNT Humanitarian Laureate award on Sept. 20. Following the death of her sister, Susan G. Komen, Brinker established the Komen Foundation, which funds research, breast cancer education and screening and treatment projects for medically underserved individuals. The foundation's signature program is the Komen Race for the Cure, the largest series of 5K run and fitness walks in the world. The Humanitarian Laureate award is presented annually to individuals whose selfless acts inspire the university family. |

General Election Day is less than two weeks away
If you won't have a chance to vote early in the general election, plan to vote at your Election Day site between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Nov. 2. As a UNT faculty or staff member, you may take a reasonable amount of time off from work to vote on Election Day under UNT Policy 1.4.12. This requires a supervisor's approval.

Growth trend continues at UNT Dallas Campus
The University of North Texas at Dallas is closer than ever to becoming a reality. The first building for the new campus is scheduled to open in 2007 on 264 acres of land bordered on the north by Camp Wisdom Road and on the west by Houston School Road. Construction is set to begin in 2005, according to John Price, vice provost of the UNT Dallas Campus.
