Homecoming is Oct. 16-18

UNT celebrates school spirit and university traditions this year with its "Mean Green Back on the Scene" Homecoming weekend, Oct. 16-18.

Early events beginning Oct. 15 include the second annual Spirit Wall contest and chalk art, part of the Paint the Campus Green campaign. Both are open to participation by university departments. Call Maureen Clouse at (940) 565-2897 for Spirit Wall information or Elizabeth With at (940) 565-4909 for chalk art information.

Events on Oct. 16 include a picnic and pep rally at 11 a.m. at the Shrader Pavilion and Library Mall. The annual lighting of the bonfire and the spirit rally take place the night of Oct. 17, and the parade, pregame barbecue and tailgating in the Mean Green Village near Fouts Field are scheduled Oct. 18 – game day.

The celebration surrounds UNT's game against Utah State. Kickoff is at 3:05 p.m. at Fouts Field. Individual tickets are $16 and can be purchased at the UNT athletics ticket office by calling (940) 565-2527.
