Pohl launches e-newsletter to communicate with UNT alumni, friends

Beginning this month, UNT President Norval Pohl is reaching out to graduates and friends of the university through their inbox rather than their mailbox. Pohl is launching North Texas Insider, an e-mail newsletter full of short, fun, interesting facts about UNT.

His first issue shares information about Homecoming, the College of Engineering, plastics research, and the Murphy Enterprise Center's upcoming luncheon with guest speaker Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf. On the lighthearted side, he provides links to an iron-on image of the new Scrappy, immediately placing UNT's made-over mascot in the hands and wardrobes of Mean Green fans; pet tricks for die-hard alums; and a UNT trivia question.

"I'm looking forward to sharing with our alumni and friends the advantages of a lifelong relationship with UNT," says Pohl.

Anyone may view or subscribe to the e-communication on his web site at www.unt.edu/president.

Pohl plans two future editions one for staff and faculty and another for current students and prospective students.
