Voter registration deadline for Nov. 2 election approaching

Faculty and staff members have until Oct. 4 to register to vote in this year's presidential election on Nov. 2. Voter registration forms for those living in Denton County are available online at www.elections.dentoncounty.com.

Early voting for this year's election begins Oct. 18 and ends Oct. 29. Under UNT Policy 1.4.12, faculty and staff members are granted a reasonable period of time off during the regular work day for voting at their precincts on Election Day if it is not possible for them to use early voting during non-working hours or to vote before or after work on Election Day. This requires a supervisor's approval. The time off for voting should be reported as time worked and not as vacation leave or compensatory time.

Due to recent precinct realignments, for the first time UNT students living on campus will vote on Election Day in the same location — at Fouts Field.
