The little engine that could — Denton voters on Sept. 13 approved a half-cent sales tax to fund a plan to build a commuter rail line from Carrollton to Denton. Though a majority of voters in five of seven other cities voted against the tax, Denton County Transportation Authority officials say the plan will continue. A rail system could help UNT commuters from the Dallas area avoid traffic gridlock as they make their way to campus every day. Engines similar to this one, which was displayed in Denton prior to the vote, could be used as part of the system.
