Decorate with Texas' Capitol

A Texas Capitol ornament makes a unique adornment for this year's holiday season.

The 2002 edition features a rendition of the building's door hinges, which were designed in the late 1880s, and is finished in 24-karat gold.

This year's ornament is the seventh in a series, and all proceeds go toward preservation of the Capitol, says Nelda Laney, chair of the Capitol Ornament Campaign. About $2 million has been raised so far.

Ornaments can be purchased for $16 each online at www.texascapitolgiftshop.com.
