UNT grieves, rallies support for victims of terrorism
UNT alumna killed as plane slams Pentagon The
passengers aboard one of the planes used in the terrorist attacks Sept.
11 included one UNT alumna. Mari-Rae Sopper earned her master's degree
in kinesiology in 1993. She was a passenger on the American Airlines
flight from Washington that crashed into the Pentagon, according to
a list released by the airline. Goolsby chapel open; dedication planned As UNT community
members worked through their emotions over the last two weeks, some have
taken solace in UNT's Goolsby Chapel, which has provided them with a quiet
place to reflect, meditate or pray.

educates about military history For
19 years, UNT has hosted an event with one goal in mind: to help business
and professional people from across Texas understand and appreciate the
important role the military has played throughout American history and

will be the site of the WebCT Texas Conference Oct. 24 to 27 in the University
Union. WebCT is the premiere software for Internet instruction used by
universities and colleges across the country.

UNT Staff Council elected its new officers during the council's first
meeting of the academic year Sept. 5.
Enrollment reaches record high According
to the headcount after the 12th day of Fall 2001 classes, UNT reports
the highest unofficial fall enrollment numbers in its 111-year history:
27,909 students.
