Faculty receive awards at annual convocation

Several faculty members were honored at the annual Faculty Convocation Aug. 21. The awards and recipients were:

Toulouse Scholar Award John A. Booth, Regents Professor of political science

PDI Fellows Leon A. Kappelman, associate professor of business computer information systems, and John Kensinger, professor of finance, insurance, real estate and law

President's Council Teaching Awards P.R. Chandy, Regents Professor of finance, insurance, real estate and law, and Charles O. Veazey, Regents Professor of music

President's Council University Service Award Marcia J. Staff, professor of finance, insurance, real estate and law

J.H. Shelton Excellence in Teaching Award Harold Heiberg, professor of music

International Education Awards David W. Hartman, associate professor of anthropology and dean of the School of Community Service, and Emile Sahliyeh, associate professor of political science
