Elm Fork Education Center makes science fun for the whole family with series

The Elm Fork Education Center, the public education branch of UNT's environmental programs, is offering a series of fun and educational events this fall through its Family Fun Science Series.

All Family Fun Science events are held at the Environmental Education, Science and Technology Building. Each event opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 3 p.m. Cost of admission is $6 for children, and free for accompanying adults. Each admission includes a free Sky Theater show, popcorn, soda and access to all exhibits and activities.

Family Fun Science series

Sept. 25, Texas Survivor — a true Texas survivor game. Participants will learn how to survive in the native terrains of Texas, compete against others and explore interactive exhibits.

Oct. 23, Artifact, Rock Fossil Road Show — Participants are invited to bring these items to the center to be examined by experts, and junior diggers can search for buried historical treasures at an archeological dig on site.

Nov. 13, Waterworld —
a day of fun exploring the wide world of water. Participants will enjoy hands-on exhibits, along with stream and pond exploration in the Outdoor Environmental Learning Area.
