Ticket changes at Fouts Field this fall

Faculty and staff may notice some changes at the gates of Fouts Field for the 2004 football season. The UNT athletic department will now scan tickets for admittance into the stadium instead of allowing fans to simply show their tickets or ticket stubs to ticket takers.

"The new system gives us a detailed, accurate account of the tickets entering the stadium and it will help us to better serve the interests of fans who come to the games," says Gabe Kirkpatrick, ticket manager for the athletic department.

Each ticket to Mean Green football games will include a barcode that will be scanned at the gates. If patrons have to temporarily leave the game, they will be given a "pass out" ticket, which they must present along with their original  ticket to be readmitted to the stadium.

The scanning system will begin at UNT's first home football game Sept. 11.
