UNT welcomes expanded e-trans service

To ease traffic congestion and parking shortages in the center of campus, UNT will begin an expanded e-trans shuttle service.

The university hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony Aug. 23 to celebrate the new buses and route. e-trans bus

President Norval Pohl assisted with the ribbon cutting, along with several other university officials.

The e-trans service is designed to shuttle students, faculty, staff and visitors from the university's numerous parking areas to the main buildings on campus.

"The shuttle offers a great way for the university to use all available parking areas," says T.J Adamowicz, transportation coordinator. "We want the service to give students and faculty more options and greater flexibility in accessing the central parts of campus."

The five buses in the e-trans service will run on campus from 7:30 a.m. to 4:40 p.m. Monday though Friday.

Each Noble Coach bus seats up to 27 people. The service is free to anyone on campus, including university visitors.

Buses will stop regularly at the University Courtyard Apartments on Bonnie Brae Road and at the parking areas on the edges of campus. These parking areas include the 300 additional parking spaces at Fouts Field and the university-leased spaces at Grace Temple Church, located on the corner of Oak and Fulton.

Campus maps and routes for the e-trans service are available throughout campus, including at the Information Desk on the third floor of the University Union.

More information is also available at www.unt.edu/police/parking_traffic.htm.
