2003 Survey of Academic
Associate Deans
about Future Academic Programs at UNT
As members of a task force of the Institutional Research and Accreditation Council, we are asking you for advice about what new programs in the fields in your college/school should be planned for the future at UNT. We are interested in how these fields are changing and how such changes should be expressed in the programs that UNT should offer over the next 15 years. You need not tell us about minor changes that would cause the faculty to make curricula changes in existing programs; we are interested in the “big” picture. Please complete this short survey BY FEBRUARY 26TH so that we can use it to help recommend long-range plans for the university. If you have any questions about the survey, please call or email any members of the task force. Thanks for your help. Task Force Members: Warren Burggren (2497); Yvonne Garza (3025); Don Grose (3025); Jared Hazelton (3037); Jean Keller (2233); Bob Killiam (3600); Richard Rafes (2717); and Virginia Wheeless (2085).

New academic
degree/certificate programs in disciplines
in your college/school that should be expanded/added
For your college/school, please provide 5 critical areas where you believe fields in your college/school will expand or future workforce needs will demand changes (1st column). * Please indicate after the name of the area, those that you believe fit UNT’s mission and vision (these statements can be found at www.unt.edu/planning) and should be added to its list of programs over the next 15 years. Please tell us if this is a degree (D) or certificate (C) program in the second column. Indicate if this expansion should be at the bachelor’s, master’s, and/or doctorate level (check all that apply). Indicate the level of importance for adding programs in this area in the last column using a 1 – 5 scale (1-lowest priority and 5-highest priority).
