FULL-TIME ENROLLMENT

To maintain F-1 and J-1 student status, international students must be enrolled in a full course of study each fall and spring semester. Summer enrollment is optional unless it is your first term. 

• For undergraduates full-time enrollment is considered to be 12 credits. 

• Graduate students are required to be enrolled for 9 credits.  Dissertators and some others are considered full-time if enrolled for 3 credits. See letter from the graduate school.

You must obtain permission before you register or drop below immigration required levels.

A student who is registered for less than full-time, and does not have authorization, is considered out of status by immigration regulation.
