Living in an Apartment

If you want to try to find an apartment, please remember this: you will need to stay in a hotel ($45 a night) while you are looking for an apartment. It is difficult to find an apartment in only one day. If you arrive Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, you must wait until Monday to sign an apartment contract.

Most apartments have no furniture. You will possibly need to contact the gas, electric, and telephone companies to supply your apartment with utilities. You will pay a deposit for these utilities.

You can get information about apartments at the International Welcome Center after you arrive in Denton, but you will need to look and choose the apartment you would like. Unfortunately, we cannot choose an apartment for you before or after your arrival.

One suggestion: You should live in the dormitory during your first semester. During that first semester you may look for a good apartment and roommate to share expenses.

Don't make a quick decision concerning an apartment or roommate!
The apartment contract is for at least six months. If you leave earlier, you will lose your deposit!
