Texas is a large, diverse state bordered on the south by Mexico. West Texas has deserts, mountains and wide open spaces. East Texas is full of pine forests, lakes and rivers. In South Texas there are rolling hills, the Gulf of Mexico and many ranches. North Central Texas, the area that includes Denton, has rich pastures, good for raising horses. Major cities such as Dallas and Houston offer cultural opportunities and international flight connections.

Denton
This small, friendly city of about 70,000 persons welcomes international students and visitors. Shopping malls, museums, public gardens and theaters are available in Denton and the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. The metro area also provides excellent medical facilities, university affiliated and independent hospitals and health care. Denton is about 60 kilometers north of Dallas.
