Terezinha Dos Santos (level 3) from Brazil tells us, "An interesting state must offer good living conditions for the people.  When I arrived in Texas last fall, I felt very happy because I felt I was home. When we live in another place, we are looking for things that we compare to our own country.  Texas has many things that are like my country.  The weather is a good example; here it is dry and warm.  I'm prepared for this climate and I really enjoy going to the swimming pool and lakes in my free time.  Sometimes on a sunny day, my friends and I enjoy going on a picnic in one of the parks with its clean air, colorful birds, and interesting animals. In Texas, I really feel at home."

"I have been living in Denton for five months.  I like Denton for three reasons.  First, Denton is quiet.  In addition, the streets are clean. You don't find too many people or too many cars here. Also, Denton doesn't have pollution, for there is not much traffic.  Third, Denton has a good university. The University of North Texas is  one of the best ones in Texas. Also, it has a good institute to study English for international students. I hope to remain in Denton for a long time," says Yaqoob Al-Shamsi from Oman (level 3).

"I like Denton because Denton is safe, so I don't have to worry when I walk home from the library at night.  Denton is a good place  to study because it is so quiet and peaceful," says Ayu Novianti, a level 4 student from Indonesia.

Olga Stepanova, a level 5 student from Latvia, likes Denton because it is small and has friendly people, little crime, and a good climate.
