The Association for Information Systems

The Association for Information Systems (AIS) founded in 1994, is a professional organization whose purpose is to serve as the premier global organization for academics specializing in Information Systems. The need for such an organization was first spelled out in an editorial authored by five past Editor's-in-Chief of the Management Information Systems Quarterly in March of 1993. Bill King, of the University of Pittsburgh, was first among many to play key leadership roles in bringing the association into existence. He served as the first president.


Academic Information Systems Research Centers

The purpose of this research was to survey the current activity and role of the University-based Information Systems Research Centers (ISRCs). The long-range goal of this research program is to determine the factors contributing to the effectiveness and the success of ISRCs, and to develop an instrument for evaluating the performance of an ISRC from the perspective of both its intra-university audience and its external sponsors.


Computer Information Systems Organization

The Computer Information Systems Organizations (CISO) is a student organization benefiting Business and CSCI majors. CISO's student officers coordinate all extracurricular activities, presentations, tours, and career fairs for the entire semester. The primary purpose of CISO is to link UNT students with Dallas / Ft. Worth's largest and most successful companies and business leaders. With the support of the UNT Business Computer Information Systems (BCIS) department, CISO aids students in preparing for graduation and moving into the world of business.
