Minor in Jewish Studies

A minor in Jewish Studies requires 18 hours, including one of the following 3 Philosophy and Religion Studies courses:

  • PHIL 3570 - Hebrew Bible
  • PHIL 3573 -  Introduction to Judaism
  • PHIL 3575 - Judaic Religion and Philosophy

and one of the four history courses listed below:

  • HIST 4260 - The State of Israel
  • HIST 4315 - Anti-Semitism: From Ancient Times to the Present
  • HIST 4320 - Anti-Semitism in Europe, French Revolution to the Present 
  • HIST 4390 - The Holocaust

In addition, four courses chosen in consultation with the Director of the Jewish Studies Program and representing at least two different departments are required. These courses include, but are not limited to, the following:
