The State of Israel will soon be 59 years old.  Having reached peace agreements with two of its neighboring countries, Israel now must confront greater challenges in order to move forward and make progress towards the achievement of peace in the Middle East.  What are those challenges, and how can we meet them?

Consul General Yarden assumed his current position in February 2006. He served as the director of the Diplomatic and Civil Law Department in the Legal Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem for the last six years, in which he represented Israel in numerous international and regional forums. Yarden received a bachelor of laws degree from Hebrew University in Jerusalem and was accepted to the Israeli Bar Association in 1986. In 1989, Yarden was a delegate to the United Nations for the State of Israel. He served the Ministry as a lawyer in the Legal Division from 1990-1991. He went on to serve as Consul of Israel at the Consulate General of Israel to New England, in Boston from 1991-1995. In 1999, he was the interim Consul General in Sydney, Australia. Yarden also spent a year at the Research Center for the Ministry in Jerusalem. He is fluent in Hebrew, English and Arabic.
