In order to use the Bulk Mail permit, a variety of steps must be followed. Listed below is the criteria that you will need to follow in order to take advantage of these savings. Items can not weigh more than one pound each.

There are two ways bulk mailings can be delivered to Mail Services.

If you choose Option 1 or 2 Mail Services must have an exact piece count of your mailing.
  • Option 1
    • Bring all items to Mail Services in ascending zip code order i.e. 00001 - 99999. Mail Services will do necessary steps from this point. You will be charged $.015 for each item processed (labeling, or metering will be an additional charge)

  • Option 2 (Be sure to read all steps before continuing)
    • Step 1
5-Digit Packages If there are 10 or more pieces to the same 5-digit zip code, they must be banded into packages. These bundles should be no thicker than four inches. Place a red "D" label below and to the left of the address of the top piece in each package. Make all the 5-digit bundles you can.

    • Step 2
3-Digit Packages If there are 10 or more pieces to the same first 3-digits of the zip code, they must be banded into packages. These bundles should be no thicker than four inches. Place a green "3" label below and to the left of the address of the top piece in each package. Make all the 3-digit bundles you can

    • Packaging
All items must face in the same direction. Secure with rubber bands. Two rubber bands will be used for each package. The first will go around the bundle length wise, while the second will go around the girth.
      • All labels and rubber bands are available from either Mail Services or the Postal Service. All labels and rubber bands are supplied free of charge.
