General Information About Interdepartmental Mail
- Mail Services is responsible for all interdepartmental
mail.
- There is no charge for interdepartmental mail.
- There is one mail run for the campus per day.
- Three carriers leave Mail Services at 9:00 in the
morning. All mail is delivered and outgoing mail is picked up, including
mail bound for the USPS.
- The current route list of designated departments
must be used for addressing interdepartmental mail.
- Interdepartmental mail should be restricted to
letter size items. All other packages, books, and films should be delivered
to Mail Services for dispatch.
- The turnaround time for interdepartmental mail
is the next business day.
Instructions
- All mail between departments should be a full 8.5
X 11 sheet of paper.
- If the item must be folded a single fold is preferred.
- Other mail may be placed in an interdepartmental
envelope.
- Interdepartmental envelopes are provided by Mail
Services.
- The envelope should be clearly marked with the
recipients delivery stop and name.
Instructions for sending information to faculty
and staff at UNT
- If the information is generic in nature Mail Services
can deliver the appropriate number of items to each department without
labeling each item. This option will allow the mailer to avoid the cost
of labels and labeling.
- If there is a need for individual personalized
copies to be delivered Mail Services can assist.
- If items are labeled before delivery, they need
to be grouped by departments.
- Items brought to Mail Services will be charged
$.015 per item for labeling. Mail Services does not supply labels.
Additional Interdepartmental Mail Information
- All USPS mail should be separated from interdepartmental
mail.
- Interdepartmental mail is restricted to Official
Business of the State of Texas.
