The Center for Logistics Education and Research works closely with senior executives to develop career placement and internship opportunities for students. These opportunities abound because the Dallas-Fort Worth region is a national leader in distribution, transportation and logistics services. More than 500 motor carriers, 50 air cargo carriers and three of the nation’s top freight rail lines operate in the region. Students have interned or obtained full-time positions at more than 250 area firms. The center's internship and employment services are in addition to what the university provides.

Our Business Leadership Building promotes interaction among students, faculty and industry leaders. The building – which has Gold-level Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification – contains 24 classrooms, team study rooms and a state-of-the-art computer lab. This building distinguishes us as a leader in business education.
The Logistics and Supply Chain Management major requires 21 credit hours of business foundation courses, 27 credit hours of logistics course work, including the capstone course, and 6 credit hours of logistics electives. Logistics courses examine:
The course work is generally conceptual in nature with analysis and numerical (college algebra) problem solving courses toward the end of the program. In addition, you are required to participate in a 240-clock-hour paid internship after completing two core courses. Paid internships are available from local firms with extensive focus on logistics and supply chain processes.
Our Career Center, Learning Center and professional academic advisors are among the many valuable resources available to you at UNT. The Career Center can provide advice about internships, future employment opportunities and getting hands-on experience in your major. The Learning Center offers workshops on speed reading, study skills and time management. Academic advisors will help you plan your class schedule each semester.
We encourage you to fulfill the graduation requirements for the Texas Recommended or Distinguished Achievement Program or the equivalent in high school.
In your junior year, take the SAT or the ACT and have your scores sent to UNT.
In your senior year, apply for admission at www.applytexas.org by March 1 and request that your high school transcript be sent to the UNT admissions office.
