UNT is one of the few universities in Texas that offers an undergraduate degree program in Real Estate. In the Department of Finance, Insurance, Real Estate and Law, we graduate experts who rent, buy and sell properties for clients as well as:
Many of our students are eligible to sit for the real estate licensing exam after completing only a few courses. This license is required for sales agents in Texas.
Within the Real Estate major, you can pursue a concentration and certification in Residential Property Management. This concentration, which focuses on the multifamily housing industry, is available at a limited number of the nation’s universities. In addition to being outstanding teachers, our faculty members are certified brokers, appraisers, right-of- way agents and consultants who remain up-to-date on industry trends and applications through research. They have written numerous articles and books in their area of expertise and incorporate their experiences and research into the course curriculum.
The North Texas Real Estate Club can provide you with unique perspectives on current events and networking opportunities. Additional networking opportunities are available through the UNT Real Estate Alumni Association.

Our new, eco-friendly Business Leadership Building accommodates 8,000 students and promotes interaction among students, faculty and industry leaders. It contains 24 classrooms, team study rooms and a state-of-the- art general access computer lab. This building helps distinguish us as a leader in business education.
As a Real Estate major, you will take courses in residential property management, appraisal techniques, investments in real estate, methods of financing commercial and residential properties, and real estate law.
