Judea Pearl

Judea Pearl, father of Daniel Pearl, speaks Oct. 20 at UNT

Dr. Judea Pearl, father of slain Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, will speak as part of Daniel Pearl World Music Days, honoring the reporter and musician who was kidnapped and killed in Pakistan in 2002.

In addition, the College of Music is dedicating all of its concerts during the month of October.

Alumnus Don Henley, The Eagles up for CMA award

The band is nominated for a Country Music Association Vocal Group of the Year award. Winners will be announced Nov. 12 in a live broadcast.

Henley attended UNT from 1967-1969 and formed the Eagles in 1971.

Jazz great Maynard Ferguson's library housed at UNT

Jazz legend Maynard Ferguson's library now lives at UNT's College of Music and includes 400 pieces -- covering Ferguson's career from the mid-1950s until his death in 2006.
