Green Loan Program

The Green Loan is disbursed in increments of $20.00 with a maximum amount of $100.00 to address unanticipated emergency expenses.  A one-time processing fee of $3.00 will be applied to the loan.  Repayment of a loan and processing fee is the responsibility of the student and will be required by the student to repay within 10 business days from the loan disbursement date. Students may receive up to two (2) loans per semester .

Accounts will be considered late one (1) day past the repayment date stated in the signed promissory note and assessed an additional $10.00 penalty fee.  An account will be considered default and assessed an additional $10.00 penalty fee twenty-one (21) days past the repayment date stated in the signed promissory note.  Accounts in default status will be forwarded to a collection agency.

Students must apply for the Allan Saxe NT Green Loan in person at the Student Money Management Center, Chestnut Hall, Suite 313.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be a Denton campus student
• Must be clear of all blocks on their university account
• Must be enrolled in the current  semester
• Must be in good standing with the loan programs
• Must show the ability to repay the loan and processing fee
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• A signed promissory note is required to be on file before disbursement of loan occurs

 Terms and Conditions:

• Applications will not be accepted if the 10-business day repayment period includes any dates the University is officially closed
• Transcript and registration blocks will be applied to all accounts with an outstanding balance in late or default status
• Students may receive up to two (2) loans per semester
• Accounts in late status (one day past the due date) will be assessed an additional $10.00 penalty fee
• Accounts in default status (twenty-one days past the due date) will be sent to a collections agency and assessed an additional $10.00 penalty fee; the student’s credit will be negatively impacted by these actions.
