Do you Seek treatment at the UNT Neurotherapy Lab? We provide innovative and moderately priced biofeedback, neurotherapy, and quantitative EEG (QEEG) services to the North Texas community. All therapists are masters or doctoral level students being trained in these treatment modalities under an experienced and licensed psychologist. Not sure what is involved in neurotherapy? Neurofeedback

Neurofeedback (or EEG biofeedback) is a form of computer guided self-regulation training used to treat a variety of disorders such ADHD, depression, drug and alcohol addiction, and PTSD. Neurofeedback is a form of biofeedback. Neurofeedback treatment developed from years of EEG research that shows that symptoms common to many disorders are associated with specific patterns of abnormal brain wave activity.

QEEG

Quantitative Electroencephalography (QEEG) involves the computerized recordings and analysis of brain waves collected with sensors attached to the scalp. We use QEEG to guide neurotherapy treatment planning. Digital EEG acquisition produces full color two dimensional brain maps. We look at the brain from a variety of different perspectives, including comparison against a database of normal brainwave activity.

Steps To Become A Client At The Neurotherapy Lab

Step 1: Contact us to discuss your particular reasons for treatment.
Step 2: If we believe that you are a good candidate for neurotherapy, your name is added to client wait list. Wait times vary greatly dependent on therapist availability - some clients get in immediately, while others may have to wait weeks or months.

Step 3: You are contacted to schedule pre-testing that often includes a QEEG and psychological inventories.

Step 4: Your pre-test results are evaluated at a Neurotherapy Lab case conference.

Step 5: You are assigned neurotherapist.

Step 6: The neurotherapist contacts you to schedule therapy appointments.

Succeeding In Neurotherapy

A variety of factors influence success in treatment, such as consistent attendance of 3 or more appointments per week, the ability to make behavior or lifestyle style changes, and completion of all homework assignments, such as breathing exercises.
