Denton Community Food Center Drive Until Sept. 16, 2005
We need your help
The UNT Department of Human Resources, Staff Council, and Faculty Senate Executive Committee are jointly sponsoring a food drive through Sept. 16 benefiting the Denton Community Food Center.
The faculty and staff of UNT and the UNT System have traditionally been generous donors to the Denton Community Food Center during the holiday season. This year our assistance is requested for a special collection drive.
The Denton Community Food Center has issued an appeal for donations of food and money to support their local effort to provide temporary food assistance - including assistance to survivors of Hurricane Katrina and to their extended family members in the area who have taken them into their homes.
Most needed items include:
• Paper goods like paper towels and toilet paper
• Detergent for washing clothes
• Staples such as sugar, cooking oil, and coffee
• Personal care items including deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste and shampoo
Here's how you can help:
Bring donations of non-perishable food items, paper products, or personal items to Human Resources
Make contributions by check (we are unable to accept cash donations) and bring them to Human Resources
Set up a donation center in your office or building (additional donation center sites will be announced as these are established)
Spread the word to your colleagues
Checks should be made to "Denton Community Food Center." Please do not give or collect cash.
Donations may be brought to Human Resources between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays through Friday, Sept. 16. If you have questions, please contact Human Resources at 2281. If you need assistance with transporting food, contact Angie Braudaway, Human Resources Staff Council Assistant, at 3885.
