Frances Jackson, Dallas, has made several trips to Poland to teach conversational English to teens through Global Volunteers, a nonprofit international development organization. She is a retired special education teacher.

L.A. Speer, Missouri City, retired seven years ago after 40 years as an ordained minister of the United Methodist Church. He served in churches in Mercedes, Mission, Bastrop, Elgin, San Antonio and Universal City and for 10 years was an editor of adult publications for the United Methodist Publishing House in Nashville.
