Joy Lynn Dickinson
, Albuquerque, N.M., married James Alan Tipping in March 2003 in Corrales, N.M. Joy is a freelance journalist and author. Jim is a senior programmer for Jack Henry & Associates.

Jana Dillon, Plano, married David A. Ward in July 2003. Jana is a licensed athletic trainer and massage therapist with ACM Health Solutions in Plano. David works for Coca-Cola Enterprises in Dallas.

Todd Mozingo, Denton, has served as the minister of outreach and worship at Southmont Church in Denton for almost two years after working in corporate management for 20 years. He is married to Jan Dunai Mozingo and has two daughters, Brianne, 9, and Brittney, 7.

JoAnn Ballantine
(M.J.), Denton, has joined the Denton Area Teachers Credit Union. She will serve as manager of the South Denton branch, scheduled to open in 2005.

Tracy Dietz (M.A., '95 Ph.D.), Oviedo, Fla., has been awarded tenure and promotion to associate professor of sociology at the University of Central Florida. She also received a Teaching Incentive Program Award from the university. She and her husband, Michael Ware ('92), live in the Orlando area, where Mike works for Charles Schwab.

Tracy Bowen and Katherine Adams Bowen ('94), Dallas, celebrated the birth of their first child, Adam William, in November 2003.

V. Lenn Carter ('98 M.S.), Denton, has served as a sergeant for the Denton Police Department and is now a lieutenant in the operations division for the city's north side.

Stacy Johnson ( '97 M.Ed.), Weatherford, and her husband, Eric, are the proud parents of a baby girl, Katharine Lee Johnson, born in February. Stacy is the director of special education for Springtown ISD.

Dana Petty Marroquin, Richmond, has been named the director of business development for STAT Care Inc., a Houston-based company that provides emergency department management for hospitals.

Tammy Armstrong McEnturff ('99 M.Ed.), Wills Point, and her husband, Rickey, are the proud parents of Kolby Ray McEnturff, who was born in August in Mesquite. He was welcomed home by sisters Jayme, Jaycie and Jayla.

Tony Smith, Haltom City, is the band director at North Oaks Middle School.

James C. Sorrels, Cheshire, Conn., teaches Spanish at Cheshire Academy in Connecticut. He received a Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera from the Ministry of Education and Culture of Spain and studied at Enforex in Marbella, Spain, on a scholarship received from the Spanish embassy in Washington, D.C. He and his wife, Christina, have been married 10 years and have an 8-year-old daughter, Karina.

Kristin Spessard Tetreault, Newtown, Conn., and her husband, Lee, celebrated the birth of their first child, Miller Emerson, in September 2003.

Lisa Abshire, London, England, was promoted to vice president at Goldman Sachs International, London, in December 2003.

Melissa Palacios-Yahner, Houston, has been selected to join the statewide North Texas Exes board of directors as a representative from the Houston area.

Benjamin Toon (M.S.), Irving, recently joined the staff of Devry University's Dallas campus as director of library services.

Philip Ferguson
, Las Vegas, Nev., was promoted from banking center manager to financial adviser with Bank of America. He successfully passed the National Association of Securities Dealers Series 7 exam and is working toward his certified financial planner designation.

Sabrina Hall, Dallas, is employed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in Dallas. She graduated from St. Mary's University School of Law in 1998.

Stacey Lane (M.S.), Portland, Ore., has a private practice in Portland as a career development coach and consultant. She is also an adjunct faculty member at Clark College in Washington state, where she teaches professional development and other human development classes.

Petronel Malan
(M.M., '01 D.M.A.), Denton, was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Soloist Performance without orchestra for her first CD, Transfigured Bach: The Piano Transcriptions of Bartok, Lapatti and Friedman. The work was also nominated for Best Engineered Album, Classical. Malan is an artist in residence at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Okla.

Jesse 'Swampy' Salinas Jr., Mesquite, is an electronics specialist at the Toys R Us Mesquite store. He attended North Texas from 1989 to 1996.

Keith Bettcher, Bradenton, Fla., is the assistant manager of the Conservation Lands Management Division of Manatee County in Florida. The division includes six parks covering more than 26,000 acres of protected land. He married speech pathologist Jaime Drake on April 3 in Port Orange, Fla.

Charles A. Frazier, Blue Ridge, and his wife, Niccole, are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Madilyn Gayle, in November 2003.

Rebecca Sawyer ('00 M.S.), Hurst, has become the executive director of the DFW Center for Autism, a nonprofit organization. The center operates a preschool program using techniques of applied behavior analysis. Staff and faculty from UNT serve as members of the organization's board.

Brett S. Stallard, Dallas, is president of Source Data, a co-owner of, and owner of Modo mio, a northern-Italian-style restaurant in Dallas.

Kenyon Anderson
(formerly Thailing), Prairie Village, Kan., owns her own business and serves as writer/producer for her company. She has three children: Taege, 9; Keile, 6; and Blaine, 1. She worked on her master's degree in radio/television/film from 1996 to 1998.

Heidi Koch Bone, Thomasville, Ga., is a pre-kindergarten teacher at Southside Elementary School in Cairo, Ga. She married Wade Bone of Cairo in December 2002.

Richard Martin, Grand Prairie, has accepted a position as the assistant city attorney for land use for the city of Arlington. His wife, Lisa Martin ('98), is a drama teacher for the Irving ISD.

Aimee Young Erickson
, Austin, is a first-grade teacher at Del Valle Elementary School and recently co-wrote a series of research studies for professional education journals. She is married to Brandon Erickson ('00 M.S.).

Cameron Hernholm, Atlanta, Ga., has been named interim executive director for Keenan's Kids Foundation, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to child advocacy. She completed her M.P.A. in nonprofit administration from the Andrew Young School for Policy Studies at Georgia State University. She credits UNT for her strong commitment to service and philanthropy.

Tom RuBane, Norman, Okla., entered the University of Oklahoma College of Law last fall after working for several years as a computer network administrator for VarTec Telecom Inc. in Dallas.

Fernando Zambrano, Allen, was named the Child Care Director of the Year by the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas and the Employee of the Year by the Plano Family YMCA for 2003. He is family program director at the Plano Family YMCA and received senior program director status in 2003.
