Delia Gilstrap Lyons (M.Ed.), Dallas, retired after 37 years of teaching and counseling in the Marshall and Dallas ISDs. Before coming to Dallas, she served 10 years with the Marshall ISD as a music
specialist. She was an
all-level teacher and spent the last seven years of her career as a counselor. Her son, William Lyons IV ('88), is also a UNT graduate.
E. Leon Mattingley ('65 M.Ed.), Watsonville, Calif., is director of admissions for Robert Ross International University of Nursing in St. Kitts, West Indies. He has been appointed admissions manager for the western region, which covers 12 states.
Peggy Nell McElrath ( '88 M.S.), Las Vegas, and her mother, Loraine W. McElrath, were installed into a Las Vegas chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution
in December. Both are retired teachers from the Clark County School District in Las Vegas. Loraine retired in 1975 and moved back to Texas. Peggy retired in 1997 and continues to reside in Las Vegas.
Keith Galitz, Lake Oswego, Ore., is president and general manager of Canby Telcom, a telephone cooperative serving 11,000 telephone lines in Canby, Ore. It was the first telephone company in the state to provide digital television service, including video on demand, over telephone lines. Keith has been in the telecommunications industry for more than 30 years, 26 years with the Bell System.
