Robert Noyce Scholarships

The Goal:

To recruit and train talented science and mathematics majors and professionals for a career in teaching.

The Scholarship:

Recipients will receive $7,750 for each scholarship/stipend year.
Applications are received on a continuing basis. Scholarships will be awarded during the Fall 2009 and Spring 2010 semesters.

The Conditions:

Who is eligible?

The following persons are eligible to apply:

• U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens
• UNT juniors, seniors, and graduate students
• Students majoring in or degreed in mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, or a related science discipline AND have completed at least 50% of major requirements by the time funding would be received
• Students with a minimum 3.0 GPA at the time application is submitted

What are the responsibilities?

Maintain good standing in the program and teach two years in a high need Texas school district for each year of scholarship/stipend received.
