Robert Noyce Scholarships

The Goal:
Recruit and train talented science and
mathematics majors and professionals for careers in teaching.
The Scholarship:
Recipients will receive $10,000 for each
scholarship/stipend year.
Applications are received on a
continuing basis. Scholarships will be awarded during the Spring 2012 semester.
Scholarships may be awarded during Summer
2012 depending on availability.
The Conditions:
Who is eligible?
The following persons are eligible to
apply:
- U.S.
citizens, nationals, and permanent residents
- UNT
juniors (must have senior standing at the time of the award), seniors, and
graduate students
- Students
majoring in or degreed in mathematics, biology, chemistry, physics, biochemistry,
or a related science discipline AND have completed at least 50% of major
requirements by the time funding is scheduled to be received
- Students
with a minimum 3.0 GPA at the time application is submitted
What are the responsibilities?
Maintain good standing in the program and
teach for two years in a high needs Texas school district (Title I) for each
year scholarship/stipend is received.
