Selecting your core-course hours
In order to successfully complete the Deferred Scholars Program, you must enroll in 12 credit hours of transferable core-courses at another institution and maintain a 2.5 GPA between the time you graduate high school and the end of fall 2007 semester.
Many schools will have advisors to help you determine courses appropriate for you as a student. We advise students to enroll in coursework that will help them fulfill University of North Texas Core Curriculum Requirements:

Information on UNT Courses that fulfill these requirements can be obtained by visiting the University of North Texas Undergraduate Catalog homepage: http://www.unt.edu/catalog/undergrad/ and clicking on the “Academic Requirements” link.
Below are several resources to help ensure you make academic choices appropriate for your fall 2007 semester.
Texas Common Course Numbering System
The Texas Common Course Numbering System (TCCNS) has been designed for the purpose of aiding students in the transfer of general academic courses between colleges and universities throughout Texas. Common courses are freshman and sophomore academic credit courses that have been identified as common by institutions that are members of the common course numbering system. The system ensures that if the student takes a course the receiving institution designates as common, then the course will be accepted in transfer and the credit will be treated as equivalent to the course offered by the receiving institution.
Enclosed is a list of current courses accepted under the Texas Common Course Numbering System. You will want to check with the school of your choice to ensure they are a member of the Texas Common Course Numbering System prior to enrolling in courses utilizing this system.
The UNT Course Applicability System is designed to assist you in determining whether a selected course at another institution will transfer to UNT. While the system has a wide variety of institutions from the state of Texas, it may not have every school listed within the state of Texas, and will likely not be helpful for out-of-state student.
