About UNT

The University of North Texas is a student-centered public research university. One of Texas' largest universities, it enrolls 34,000 students and is the flagship of the UNT System.

The university offers 99 bachelor's, 104 master's and 49 doctoral degree programs - many nationally and internationally recognized.

UNT is one of only seven universities in the nation with four Goldwater Scholars in math and science. Students gain hands-on experience in their field before graduation, sometimes at one of the university's 60 research and service centers.

UNT provides students a traditional college experience at an affordable cost. The university has been named one of America's 100 Best College Buys® for 12 consecutive years and one of the nation's top 100 universities graduating the most Hispanic and African American students.

The university offers a 19:1 student-faculty ratio. With its excellent faculty and legacy of excellence, it now has the state's third largest undergraduate enrollment. Students can participate in more than 300 student organizations and attend Division I-A athletic events.

UNT is located in Denton, a progressive city of 100,000 people about 35 miles north of Dallas and Fort Worth. Students at UNT discover the power of ideas.
