Friendly faculty to guide you A faculty member teaching class

UNT faculty and staff are friendly, personable and willing to help you. Students are the top priority here. Although class sizes vary (especially for freshmen), UNT has a 20:1 student-faculty ratio.

You'll be glad to learn that most classes are taught by faculty, not teaching assistants.

Our professors have outstanding academic credentials, are excellent teachers and enjoy helping students learn. In fact, many professors widely recognized in their fields teach courses at all levels. The highest faculty ranking is Regents Professor. Professors at that rank devote at least half their teaching time to introductory-level courses. You'll be learning from the best.

Extra value for your dollar
students working on computers

UNT students have access to state-of-theart learning and research facilities, including high-speed wi-fi . We provide 14 open-access student computer labs, including one that is open 24/7.

The UNT library system, designated a major research library by the U.S. Department of Education, houses more than 6 million cataloged items. UNT is one of only three institutions of higher education in the country that are designated Affiliated Archives of the National Archives.

The university places a high value on engaging our undergraduate and graduate students in the research process. Much of the scholarly work our faculty members conduct is groundbreaking and our facilities exceed those at many other public institutions. For example, the College of Engineering has a combination of three high-powered microscopes not available at any other university in the nation.
