| SUBJECT: DISTRIBUTION OF IMPROPERLY ADDRESSED USPS MAIL APPLICABILITY: TOTAL UNIVERSITY The United States Postal Service (USPS) will deliver all University of North Texas improperly addressed and non-deliverable mail, received by the Denton USPS, to the UNT Mail Services on a daily basis. UNT Mail Services will research and mark for delivery, via Inter-Campus Mail, non-deliverable mail for which a proper recipient can be identified. All mail received that day will be processed within twenty-four hours. Resources used for identification will be the Current HR Faculty/Staff list, Group Wise Directory, UNT Campus Directory, and the listing of PO boxes, both recent and previous to the new box numbers. All 1 st Class items will receive priority over other standard mail items processed. A notification sheet, explaining the delay in mail delivery, will be attached to each piece for the recipient’s review. The recipient will be notified of the need to pick up items such as books, of mail items that are non-standard in size, by phone, e-mail and/or notice through inter-campus mail. All mail researched and designated for campus delivery or of pickup must be accepted by the addressee and cannot be refused or returned in the USPS System. The recipient must discard all unwanted mail. All mail that cannot be identified by Mail Services personnel for delivery must be returned to the USPS.
