SUBJECT: LEGAL SERVICES

APPLICABILITY: STUDENTS

The University provides legal counsel to students through the Office of the Student Legal Advisor. The Student Legal Advisor is a licensed attorney and an active member of the State Bar of Texas. This office provides advice to students regarding their legal rights. At times, the Student Legal Advisor may represent students in legal disputes. Educational materials such as reference books, pamphlets and articles are also available in this office.

The Student Legal Advisor may not represent students in criminal cases or disputes with other students or with the University. Mediation services are available to assist students, and mediations may be arranged through this office.
