PRAIRIE AHEC (Area Health Education Center) at THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH TEXAS

Prairie AHEC is a non-profit organization that seeks to improve the health of our communities by developing a quality health workforce and helping address unmet health needs. We are a part of the East Texas AHEC program.

We provide services in 13 counties (Clay, Collin, Cooke, Denton, Ellis, Johnson, Hood, Parker, Palo Pinto, Jack, Wise, Montague, and Grayson)

Our main program areas are:

• Promotion of Healthy Communities

• Support for Community Health Systems

• Training Opportunities for Health Profession Students

• Health Careers Promotion
