Director of Institutional Compliance

Mission: The University of North Texas is committed to conducting itself with the highest integrity and in compliance with all laws. It is dedicated to ensuring that its faculty, staff, and administration understand the requirements of applicable laws, and that they have access to the training and guidance they need to carry out their duties in an effective and ethical manner. The university has extensive record keeping, tracking, and oversight mechanisms for ensuring compliance, and it is committed to their continuous review and improvement.

The director of compliance reports to the president and is responsible for chairing the Compliance Coordinating Committee, implementing and managing the Institutional Compliance Program, and working through the Compliance Coordinating Committee and Compliance Steering Committee, for the direction of the following activities:

  • Reviewing, revising and formulating of appropriate policies and standards to guide the Institutional Compliance Program.
  • Assisting departments with developing risk-based departmental training materials and programs, as needed.
  • Developing and monitoring the effect of processes and systems to build compliance consciousness into the university's daily business processes.
  • Investigating complaints and conducting risk-based reviews of departmental compliance operations.
  • Communicating instances of non-compliance to appropriate administrative officers for corrective, restorative, and/or disciplinary actions.
  • Preparing quarterly reports for the president and the Board of Regents summarizing the compliance effort and results and identifying changes that will be made to enhance compliance.
