Keep UNT Beautiful

For the last 20 years, Keep America Beautiful has sponsored the Great American Cleanup. This event has become one of our country’s largest community improvement programs. In 2004, millions of people volunteered in nearly 15,000 communities across America to participate in a range of activities from litter collection and park cleanups to playground construction and tree planting.

As part of the on-going campus beautification efforts, and in keeping with the spirit of the Great American Cleanup, we invite all members of the UNT community to participate in our third annual UNT Beautification Day on Saturday, April 2, 2005.

The campus-wide event will occur from 8:30 a.m. until noon, and lunch will be provided following the event at the University Union portico. Faculty, staff, students and their families are invited to meet at the parking lot west of Terrill Hall (Lot 9) to sign up for a variety of volunteer activities.

"Volunteers may choose from an assortment of projects such as litter pick up, flower bed cleaning and planting, tree planting and outside painting," says Bob Killam, administrative services officer in the biology department and this years event coordinator.
